A Different Kind of Children’s Store
Unlike most kids’ websites and stores, we actually perform intense “pre-shopping” for you, researching, comparing, and testing thousands of products so we can bring you the top performers. We’re parents, too, and picky ones at that!
We’re the opposite of big box stores and massive websites that tout huge selections, but leave it up to parents to sift through it all. By narrowing the field, providing superior choices, and offering detailed product information, we eliminate the guesswork, so you can make better buying decisions.
And when we can’t find a product that meets our high standards, we create it ourselves. Our in-house design team works closely with parents to develop ingenious, high-quality kids’ products you can’t find anywhere else.
Well I received this yesterday and last night stayed up late to put it all together. So let’s see from start to finish.
Yes it is just the box that it comes in, just so you know it is heavy!
Open the box and say oh s..t this is a lot of work!
Now take a 2nd look and instead of panicking I decided to take all the parts out and see what I have.
Here is the main part top and bottom. All of the yellow is metal with the black protective ends.
Here is the front bar. This is metal tube covered in a padding.
These hold the arms and the front bar up and everything all together.
Here are the legs. All of these pieces are steel so that is why the box was so heavy. These legs have the rubber to keep the unit from sliding. These look like wheels but they do not move. The front legs are longer than the back to give it the slant.
This unit tells the child how long they have walked or used the unit. This is the only thing that needs batteries. I do not believe this has an auto shut-off so keep batteries around or check it when the kids are done.
What I loved about the whole process was that they include everything in that big heavy box. I sat my butt on the floor and put this together. The only time I moved was to get a better position to tighten the screws. The screwdriver below has a magnetic end which was so useful to put the smallest screws in. They really paid attention to the details in this box.
Here are the arms, steel tubes covers in soft padding.
The screwdriver, alum wrench, and all the screws were enclosed in this vacuum sealed package. You know nothing is going to be missing with this.
So here I have the legs on.
The final result. I had my husband double-check all the screws because my strength is not good in my hands and arms. He only had to tighten one, so that was not bad at all.
I tried to blur out my mess in the background, sorry! Some of the grandkids came over and tested this out. It is recommended for kids 3 – 6 years old and they are a few years older. This is a manual treadmill, it will not move by itself. The kids should wear shoes when using it. For one they will need it for the grip from the shoes to move the treadmill belt. So it will slowly build the strength in their legs.
I plan on giving this to Betty, my granddaughter. She is 3 years old and was born premature so she has some health issues. She was supposed to have surgery on her hip, I am not sure what happened but they did not do surgery. Now she really needs to build strength in her legs and hips and I truly believe this will help her a lot.
This is the timer when it is running.
,After this is all together I am very impressed with how sturdy this is. I am sure, as with anything you put together yourself, I will need to check the screws so they do not work themselves out. This Fun & Fitness Treadmill for Kids by One Step Ahead is a very high quality product!
I received this product to give my honest opinion! So what do you think about owning this for your child?
