Bocandy is a Candy Subscription Box from Around the World
Bocandy was an idea when they tried buying international candy and found out it was not only hard to find, but also really expensive. They started buying it in bulk, shipping it to our home base in Detroit and then to you fine candy loving people all around the US. They hand-pick the best candies and snacks from around the world and ship them to you.
Here are some of the brands they carry.
This will be on the outside of the box, so it is really easy to know what it is.
Rip it open to find all the goodies inside.
This is the Meiji Osushiyasan Gummy. They put a sticker on the back side in English so you do not have to guess. The picture on the front shows you how to put them together. Not really sure why you have to put them that way, the cream-colored one is sweet but I cannot really taste a certain flavor. The colored ones are sweet with a fruit flavor, and you are supposed to stack them.
This one Desiree did not read (or look at ) the directions because it is supposed to be mixed with water and then you put it into the provided cones. It is called Nericcho Soft Cider.
The powder is a little sour. Desiree took most of this to school to share with her friends.
This one is made in Slovakia. It is a foam vanilla jelly with chocolate coating (their words from the label) It is super sweet and nothing like what I was expecting.
I was expecting something like nougat or possible marshmallow creme. Up close it does look like the texture of a sponge. It tastes somewhat grainy, sweet, slightly sticky, and the chocolate in not horrible but somewhere between dark chocolate and milk chocolate.
Kex – says it is filled wafers in milk chocolate. It also is certified cocoa that supports sustainable cocoa farming, so that is good. I am guessing but I think this one comes from Germany, but I cannot read anything that tells me where it is from. This is one of my favorites. Milk chocolate and really good.
This one says “strawberry flavored acidulated (To make or become slightly acid) hard candy lollipop coated with chili. Now to me those 2 things should not be in the same sentence, candy and chili! Well I just tried it and can say this is my least favorite. Wow not sure if it is chili powder or something else, it does not taste very good and I could not eat enough to see if there was any strawberry flavoring.
These are bubble gum, very soft and full of flavor. These come from Japan.
These say they are “Dragees cream flavour”. Tastes similar to what I would think vanilla frosting tastes rolled into a ball and dried. Not horrible just different.
They are rather plain hard candy, with a hole in the middle so when you suck on them a sour powder goes in your mouth. I know Desiree said she did not like them, I would think anyone that likes sour candy would like these.
These say they are “Teddy Pop”. They look like a hard candy gummy bear. They are not bad, fruity flavored.
The next ones remind me of Mentos. These are Rowntrees, Fruit Pastilles. These are made in the UK. Even has a Nestle logo on the back! They are sugar-coated gummy rounds. They are pretty good also.
So we have travel a lot of places with this box from Bocandy. It is funny because Desiree wanted nothing to do with boxes of regular food from around the world but she jumped right into this one! Even took the pictures LOL. So at least she was able to learn that candy does not mean the same thing in every country. Plus she shared with her friends!
This would make a great gift for almost anyone!
Each month is something different from Bocandy!
I received this product to give my honest opinion.
