Bonnybrook Farms Country Fair
We were invited to come out and spend the day at Bonnybrook Farms for their Country Fair. I was ready to get away from the stress and just relax and let the kids run around. When I was young we would visit my Grandfather on a farm in Kentucky. We always had a huge family gathering and cookout. I got the same warm feeling when I visited Bonnybrook Farms!
I think the kids could tell before they even went inside to see what was going on. They seemed more relaxed.
It would not be a farm without eating something delicious. We did just that with the best, sweetest, bbq sauce I have ever tasted. Then we finished out with a great dessert.
The kids had to check out the homemade horses!
The kids loved the carriage sitting right outside in the back yard.
Now this is a back yard that I would love to use everyday!
This was something I had never seen before. These teeter-totters are old. I was not brave enough to get on them.
These boys were having a lot of fun in the sand box. Dad was close by and a very nice young man to talk to, actually everyone at Bonnybrook Farms was very friendly! It was really refreshing to have such a great group of people, not just the workers, the visitors also.
Here is a miniature jail for the kids to play in. Remember cowboys and indians when we were young and how much fun it was to play.
At the bottom of the hill is a small cave to play in.
This is the entrance to the 80 foot long underground slide.
Below is the video Madison made going down the slide.
Another horse, this time it is a swing.
We were so excited to meet Alexis Gomez. Alexis recently showed America her talent as she competed in American Idol Season XIV. She made it to the Top 16, being one of the Top 8 girls! Alexis was there to be one of the judges for the singing competition. I have most of the singer’s videos on my you tube channel. Below is the video of the winner.
All of the girls that sang did a great job! It was nice to listen to some of their voices. My girls loved it since they all want to be a singer some day.
There were a few people fishing to try to win the Fishing Derby.
They had archery that you could try your luck at.
They also have Giant Slingshots and Clodhopper Golf.
The girls had fun competing on the Giant Slingshots.
Above is the golf clubs.
These are the balls that go along with the golf clubs.
Here is the golf course!
They are getting ready for the ice cream eating contest.
This horse loved getting our attention.
It was nice to take the kids through the barn and talk about the animals.
The barn was really clean, compared to most barns. The animals all seem to be well taken care of.
You can also go on a pony ride and this is just one of ponies available.
We all had a fun and relaxing day at Bonnybrook Farms. It is worth going to and just enjoying your day without the stress will all live with now.
I want to thank the owners and the employees for having us out for their Country Fair. We will be back!
