Campus Book Rentals website seems to be extremely easy to negotiate. I want to see if this works as easily as they say.
One of my first questions is about highlighting and note taking. Now it has been some time since I went to college, but I do know I could not write in my books if I planned on selling them back. Campus Book Rentals lets you highlight and take notes in the margins. This is so important when you need to remember certain areas you are reading. Maybe you need to ask the instructor some questions, I used a lot of sticky notes.
Let’s take a look at a video from their site that explains a lot:
It does seem super easy to me. They offer a lot plus they save you a lot of money. Free shipping both ways is so awesome. You pick your rental period, you do not have to wait for a college buy back each year.
This is from Campus Book Rentals’ site:
Renting textbooks can save you a lot of money, and is a far superior alternative to buying your books. You can rent your textbooks without the risk of your books becoming devalued by the end of the semester and of course, you can easily rent them online. Over 1 million customers rent textbooks from us at over 5,800 college campuses across the nation. Join the movement, pay less for your college books, and save your hard-earned money.
Over 1 million people cannot be wrong, can they? We know how all the different things you can do as far as renting books, let’s look at what they say about returning them:
Each time you rent textbooks from CampusBookRentals.com, you’ll receive a bubble envelope with a prepaid USPS label attached to the outside. When you’re done with your books, simply place them inside the return envelope and drop the package off at the nearest USPS drop box or Post Office. Shipping is all prepaid.
Now I would say that is easy. Just put the envelope up until your last day of class, then just mail back. Also you get a 15 day grace period so tons of time to get it in the mail. What happens if you would like to keep the book for reference?
You’re only charged the difference between what you already paid to rent the book, and the value of the book at the time you initially rented. This is what makes renting textbooks so cool; it saves you money, while still allowing you to purchase the book if you’d like to.
Why choose Campus Book Rentals?
- We have an excellent support staff and we’re always only a phone call away.
- We’re one of the pioneers of the textbook rental movement. The textbook rental movement happened in the summer of 2007, and originally there were only three companies. We were one of the originals.
- You save a lot of money when you rent textbooks. And if you want to keep your books at the end of the semester, just pay us the difference and the books are all yours.
- If for any reason you change your mind about your book(s), you have 21 days to return them for a full refund.
Now that we understand how easy it really is to rent textbooks, I want to tell you about making money with a new initiative called Rent Back. I found this on their website:
I love this program. You are still keeping your books but you get paid to loan them out. Make a little extra cash. Why not? Have you ever sold books back to a college? You are lucky to get 25% of what you paid. It really does not seem fair.

Now I do not want to forget about something good that CampusBookRentals.com does with each textbook rented. They donate to Operation Smile with each rental.
Let’s see why they picked this charity. This is from Operation Smile’s website HERE:
Operation Smile is an international children’s medical charity that performs safe, effective cleft lip and cleft palate surgery, and delivers postoperative and ongoing medical therapies to children in low and middle income countries.
At Operation Smile, we’re more than a charity. We’re a mobilized force of international medical professionals and caring hearts. Operation Smile is a pioneer in advocating for the importance of safe surgery in resource poor environments and is the largest surgical charity of its kind, leading research into the causes of cleft lip and cleft palate, and its prevention, treatment and eradication.
Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft. A child with a cleft has twice the odds of dying before their first birthday. Children with cleft conditions who survive may have difficulty eating, speaking, hearing or breathing properly. In some places, they are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can’t afford the surgeries they need to live a productive life.
Here is their Mission Statement:
Operation Smile mobilizes a world of generous hearts to heal children’s smiles and transform lives across the globe.
We believe that all children deserve to live their lives with dignity. And for those suffering from cleft lip, cleft palate or other facial deformities, dignity begins with a smile.
Driven by our universal compassion for children, we work worldwide to repair childhood facial deformities by delivering safe, effective surgery and related medical care directly to patients. The global partnerships we create, the knowledge we share and the infrastructure we build leave a legacy that lives well beyond our medical missions, making a lasting difference in our world.
Our impact is felt not just through the children we heal, but through the daily transformation of donors, volunteers and staff as we fulfill our shared vision and see immediate, life-changing results.
So by taking advantage of saving money at CampusBookRentals.com, you are also helping children smile all over the world. Now doesn’t that feel good!
