DIY Box Creations Has Fun and Creative Projects To Make Out Of Really Big Boxes
How many times have you seen kids play with the boxes more than the actual gift they received. I have a lot! Now with DIY Box Creations you can help kids have fun with Creative Projects To Make Out Of Really Big Boxes.
DIY Box Creations includes a variety of out-of-the-box cardboard creations for families to build together, transforming leftover boxes into an assortment of step-by-step projects. From planes, trains, forts, lemonade stands, and puppet theaters, have fun building memories and creativity with each step.
It contains 12 projects that be made of large cardboard boxes. Both indoor and outdoor projects are provided; some would be suitable to wear as costumes while others could be part of an indoor play area.
Clear instructions are provided with step by step pictures which show what cut pieces look like and what the projects look like at different stages. Many of the designs include clever details like an added strap that makes the airplane easy to wear and storage space built into the bottom of the train table.
All of the projects require the use of sharp knives or saws to cut the cardboard pieces and some require precision cutting of circles or identical curves. Many of the projects can be completed using paper, latex paint, or markers to decorate the boxes but a couple, like the play stove, recommend the use of more toxic metallic paint.
If your house is anything like mine you have cardboard boxes all over! I order things online and that always results in a lot of cardboard boxes! This book is the perfect solution for those with tons of cardboard and a love for crafting! It is perfect for large boxes that you may have around your home or can easily get. There is just something magical about big boxes to little kids, I swear they can feel the potential they have! This book has simple step-by-step instructions with great photos (I love that they use actual photographs of the process instead of illustrations!) to help turn cardboard boxes into wonderful things like airplanes, toy ovens, doll houses, and so much more!
In what may be the best case scenario of “reuse” ever, there are a wide range of super fun projects to make with cardboard boxes. Desiree loves to do different projects so this was perfect for her.
Very well written with easy to follow instructions. The pictures are very detailed with bright colors. I would gladly recommend this DIY Box Creations book.
A stay-at-home mom of three boys, Courtney Sanchez began crafting as way to keep her children stimulated and active. Having time to sit and be creative with children, and to explore using texture, colors and (most importantly) their imagination is a great way to bond and teach at the same time. Her website, Crafts by Courtney (www.craftsbycourtney.com) explores a variety of activities and how-to kids crafts to keep children active and inspired through creative play.
I received this to give my honest opinion.
