Dripo The Portable Ice-Drip Coffee Maker
The Dripo’s proprietary slow-drip cold brew method brings you the latest innovation in coffee to create an old-world, bitter-free luxurious taste. Dutch or Japanese style cold brew taste is taking the world by storm because this method releases the more delicate oils and flavor molecules while not exciting acids in the beans. End result? No bitterness. Nothing but beautiful coffee purity. The Dripo releases 45 drops per minute. It’s slow, but as the Japanese know, it’s worth taking the time to create something that’s perfect. All you have to do is set it up and let it work its magic over 2 to 3 quick hours. Just pour water-there are no other steps!!
It comes in a box that looks like the old milk cartons, really cool for a gift!

In the box everything is in a plastic bag.
The instructions are easy to find and will not accidentally get thrown away since they are inside the unit! Now you will want to play with this and make different strengths of your coffee to find the exact strength you prefer, which will probably be different from other people.
The cap is the one that fits on the other part to take with you and drink. This unit is well made. Plastic so it will not break and super easy to clean after using. This container is not one that is on the top that the ice goes in.
This is pictures of the larger unit and the unit where you put the grounds into. It has a metal filter that has super small holes so this will take it’s time making the perfect cup. The larger one is the cup you will drink from. This is great for a single person or someone who likes cold coffee where maybe a spouse does not.
I have everything ready and just need to put the top piece on and add water.
Iced coffee vs. cold brew – Is there a difference?
Iced coffee is made by cooling regular hot brewed coffee, and then serving it in a glass over ice. Hot brewing is fast, but also extracts acids that can give your coffee a bitter taste and upset your stomach.
Cold brew is made by actually using cold water to brew the coffee, so it’s never hot at any point. The method extracts the natural flavors and aromatics of your coffee without the acids and bitter flavors, creating a balanced and smooth coffee. The only draw back is it takes more time to brew, however Dripo is able to whip up a fresh cup of cold brew in just a few hours, not days like other systems.
Now I just have to wait.
I like that this does not require electricity to use, no mechanical parts, comes with great instructions, and is super easy to use and clean. I can do the same type of coffee as the Japanese drip, iced coffee and not be in danger of shattering glass everywhere and not having a place to store that big contraption. There’s even an offer for 50 free filters included (they do include some paper filters. They’re not necessary, but the paper takes out some of the oils in the coffee…giving you a smoother brew). I get better tasting iced coffee with the Dripo and the flavor is more intense than regular brewed.
Personally if I were going to be home and did not want the coffee right away this would be great but this is not something you can make quickly and have it ready to drink. I tried the first cup and there is a big difference between cold brew and hot brew. Cold brew is smoother.
