My Grandchildren love healthy foods. We just have to make sure we limit the other things that slip by. We talk about what we have for a meal and how it affects their bodies. They don’t want to get sick and miss out playing with their friends.
We use a sticker/prize system. I give my kids a sheet of paper that we put stickers on for every new fruit or veggie they try. When they get to so many, we get them a small toy or book at the Dollar Tree or Walmart. It has really helped.
We present fruits and vegetables to the children at all meals and snacks. We eat them ourselves to serve as a good example also.
I buy snacks that are fruit and combo pairs. Other times I may “hide” vegetables in a dish if I know they are less likely to eat it.
My eldest loves healthy foods so my little one likes to be just like big sister so is willing to try new healthy foods.
We stock up with healthy foods & by having them available really helps encourage everyone to eat healthy. We try to set by example and make good choices.
I put veggies and fruits in smoothies and they love them.
My kids are still very little so I try to introduce new healthy things while y’re young. My oldest loves to try new things
I do it by example and by serving them in a way that they find appealing.
By not having so much junk food around, and having lots of healthy choices.
I always have my kids try new foods. Sometimes I have to lie to them so that they don’t think it’s healthy but at least they’ll try it.
I have Crohns & also vegetarian so am on fairly rigid & consistent diet. I just don’t buy junk food at all. One of my granddaughters lives. with me so she eats what I eat. We have a small garden & I keep plenty of fruit & lots of soy products, tofu, soy burgers, etc.
I eat very healthy, and my children want to do the same. We talk about the importance of healthy foods a lot.
