October is Vegetarian Awareness Month
To celebrate Vegetarian Awareness Month; Meatless Monday, Oldways, and The Humane Society of the United States created the Vegtoberfest campaign to encourage people to put more plants to their plate. The best part is that you don’t have to be vegetarian or vegan to participate! Just try to add more fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes to your dinner plate.
Help spread awareness by sharing your Vegtoberfest story.
Why do you want to put more plants on your plate? To better your health? Help the environment? Save animals? Let us know. Read Mommy & Love’s Vegtoberfest story and learn how you can share your own personal story to get the campaign going!
Try Vegan Stuffed Cabbage Rolls.
Lightlife can help you put more plants on your plate this month. They offer meat alteratives, which are extremely helpful for people new to the plant-based diet. Simply, replace the meat with a plant-based “meat” and make your favorite recipes as usual. You will be surprised at how easy it is to fool people into thinking they are eating actual ground beef.
