I am trying to find great items that everyone would like to receive for Christmas. Well Quarterly Co sent me a box for her, and I was really surprised how great this box was.
Quarterly is a new way to connect with the people you follow and find interesting. We spend so much of our lives connecting with people online that we forget the value of tangible interactions that happen in the real world. Quarterly wants to bridge that gap by allowing anyone to subscribe to influential curators and receive physical items in the mail from them. It’s like a magazine, but instead of receiving words on a page, our subscribers receive actual items that tell a compelling story crafted by the curator.
Quarterly is a quarterly subscription service; the person you are subscribed to sends you a new package every 3 months. Each product will reflect on the person who selected it, and help inform your understanding of them. So maybe you’ll get the same kind of notebook that your favorite author used to plot her recent bestseller. Or maybe it’s the tea a musician was drinking while he penned a famous track. Or perhaps it’s a secret family cold remedy an artist used while working on a masterpiece. The point is, every object—while uniquely brilliant in its function—will also have a story, and through that story take on new meaning.

This is how special this box looks. Every item is wrapped in special paper. In the blue envelope, I got to know the curator, Nina Garcia, a little better. She also goes through and explain why she picked each item in the box. Since she is a style expert and has tested a lot of hair care products, she talks about why hair is so important and tells how she is obsessed with hair care.
This is professionally wrapped and made me feel very special!
You have to take the time to unwrap everything, so there are lots of surprises in this box. Everyone loves to be surprised and treated special and that is what this box does.
This is the last thing she writes about in her notes, but I thought it was beautiful and wanted to start with this. It is a carved birch wood hairpin by Masterpeace. This is part of a Russian luxury accessories line and is handcrafted.
Shu Uemura’s The Volume Maker is one of Nina’s favorite product lines. She uses this before she goes on camera to get the perfect amount of volume.
Redken’s Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer protects hair from heat styling tools, shortens drying time and keeps the style in your hair for 24 hours. Nina likes Redken product because they develop products with the same proteins as hair so each strand is strengthened and repaired from inside out.
Serge Normant’s Dream Big Instant Volumizing Spray helps to hold your hairstyle without the sticky strands. Serge has styled hair for Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts and is responsible for many of the hair styles that appear on the covers of Marie Claire.
PRX Reparatives Intensive Fortifying Mask by Frederic Fekkai helps Nina when her hair gets exhausted, colored too much, or just getting ready for summer. Fekkai has styled hair for Claudia Schiffer and Hillary Clinton.
Without this box I can guarantee I would have never tried some of these wonderful products. Before this box I had never heard of most of these, but I love each and every one of them. There are a few more pamphlets on some of the products to learn more or to purchase them.
Now what woman would not love this box! A teenager that is hair obsessed, like I was as a teen, would also think you really know her when you get this for her. Quarterly has boxes for men too! They also have lots of other curators.
Follow them to stay up-to-date.
I received this product to give my honest opinion.
