Ride Miller Ferries to Put-in-Bay, OH
We had not been to Put-in-Bay, OH in 25 years. When Miller Ferries contacted me about visiting again, my whole family was so excited. Put-in-Bay is a village on South Bass Island in Lake Erie.
Miller Ferries take passengers and vehicles round-trip between the northern tip of Catawba peninsula and Put-in-Bay or Middle Bass Island. Summer trips to Put-in-Bay run every 1/2 hour and takes only 18 minutes. Transit to Middle Bass Island is less frequent and takes 40 minutes.
They have 5 large free parking areas very close. They run in the spring, summer, and fall and depending on weather in the winter to Put-in-Bay only.
This is the ferry we rode on, as it is arriving. It can fit a lot of vehicles and even the semi-truck.
We all enjoyed our trip and they had lots of seating upstairs.
You will immediately recognize their sign on the buildings. The ferries are clean and very safe.
We were on our way and ready for a day at Put-in-Bay. You can see hubby even has a smile lol.
This sign was above us on the boat. Not sure if it was built or placed in service April, 1997.
I have more to share about Put-in-Bay. Miller Ferries arranged for us to get a golf cart from E’s Golf Carts. This is right next to their dock so it made life a lot easier for us. Watch for that review coming soon!
What began as a humble fishing charter and ice business has evolved into not only a ferry line for passengers, cars and freight, but a way of life for anyone who chooses island living. Miller Ferry is the main artery between mainland and the islands of Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass. Board a ferry across Lake Erie and you will understand why a ferry route is known as “the most poetic of roads”.

We were furnished this opportunity from Miller Ferries in exchange for this review.
