Let Kids Learn How Important Touching Is In Their Lives With The Texture Game

I love when little children close their eyes and think we cannot see them.  It shows how innocent they are.  It also shows how much they rely on us to teach them things they just do not learn other places.  The Texture Game sent me one of their games and that is the first thing I remembered when my kids and grandchildren were little.  This games help to let kids learn how important touching is in their lives.

Touch is a critical factor influencing the development of the LHPA pathway ( limbic-hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal), which, if it is dysfunctional, can influence behaviour, including antisocial behaviour, in later life.

Texture Game

With The Texture Game the kids puts a hand inside each (similar to an old fashion muff, if you remember those).  They try to feel the pieces on the inside and match them by feel only.  The winner matches the most set of squares.  So no cheating just feeling.

This helps children to be more aware of things in their lives and not just by sight.  The Texture Game is fun to play with little children and special needs children.  We need more games like this that are safe for all children and easy to travel with.  What a fun way to go on vacation, with the kids playing a game in the backseat.

Adults can have fun with this also.  See how good your friends are at The Texture Game.  Don’t forget to take it to the nursing home to help them think a little and have fun.

Playing the game allows each player to learn to “listen” deeply with their hands and body. It reaches and stimulates the cerebral cortex in a way a visual game does not. This can be so crucial and beneficial in the visually stimulating electronic age we live in.
