Have you seen the new game Pathwords. On the box they describe it as word search extreme. It also says it is for brain fitness, cross train your brain.
Pathwords will help strengthens memory, sharpens focus, speeds up thinking, and reduces stress. I do not know about you but I can use help with all of the above!
Pathwords is a 1 person game. Do you know how hard it is to find a 1-person game? My Mother loves word search books so I cannot wait to see if she likes this game. She is 78 and is in wonderful health, but she always worries about being active and keeping her mind going. That is another reason I think she would love this game.
Above is what is in the box. A spiral bound book with all the puzzle. This book is made so you can wipe it off if something gets on it. I do not feel it would rip easily either because of that material. The book is also separate by the color tabs that show beginner puzzles 1 – 20, intermediate puzzles 21 – 40, advanced 41 – 60, and expert 61- 80.
The colored plastic pieces are for you to solve the puzzles. There is also a book with instructions and answers.
On this picture we wanted to start at the beginner level. Above the green tab with beginner show you what pieces you will need to solve this puzzle. When it gets harder the pieces shown will be question marks (?) and you will figure out what piece you need for each question mark.
Here is the first puzzle so you can see how to solve the puzzle, putting the colored pieces where they need to be to spell words. Some words are backwards. All the letters must be covered. The colored pieces must be completely on letters, no empty spaces.
The creator of Pathwords has been creating word and number puzzles for over 30 years. In 1981 (the year I graduate high school), he earned his Ph.D. from MIT, and had his first crossword puzzle published by the New York Times. He has been published numerous times since.
I think this game could be used by adults and children. It might just help the kids “think outside of the box”.
Why not follow ThinkFun, the makers of Pathwords, so you will be the first to know about new games they have.
Check out their site because they have games for all ages and lots to choose from.
Thanks for stopping by, and let me know who you think would like this game.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
