TOP BEAUTY TRENDS FOR SPRING
Spring is blooming and so are this season’s latest trends. From pastels to neons and nods to past decades, we take a look at the hottest beauty trends. We sat down and spoke with Mobile Styles professionals to get a glimpse of the looks they are loving this spring. They also shared tips on how to achieve all these trending styles.
Cole Herrera, Mobile Styles hairstylist, got into hairstyling after growing up around family members who worked at salons in Indiana. As far as color goes, Cole believes that the trend is veering away from silver tones and back to the gold tones.
“The 90s are coming back,” says Cole. Hairstylist Samantha Lanese agrees that we are going back in time and says that we will see a lot of 70s fashion coming back in style, including curls. “Embrace your natural curls,” says Samantha. Tracya D., a Mobile Styles hairstylist originally from Barbados, agrees that we will be embracing natural hairstyles. She adds that we will see a lot of braids. The braid trend is something stylist Kristopher Dreww sees as staying in style as well. “Braids are everything,” says Kristopher. “Get on your festival looks. Festival styles are where it’s at.” He also says he’ll be receiving a lot of requests for neons and black light hair.
As far as men’s trends go, Mobile Styles barber Asia Jackson says fades will be everywhere. Beard care is also going strong. When asked about what personal style means to her, Asia explains, “I’m here to make you look great. To fit you into your personal style, to get to know you and then put a little edge on it.”
Are man buns in or out? We asked several Mobile Styles professionals and the verdict was split. Some said they were going out, but other artists said they still love the man bun trend. While Asia Jackson says the man buns are out, Mobile Styles stylist Fantasia L. is all about the buns. “I love man buns! They’ll always be in for me,” Fantasia says.
Kat Nguyen, a makeup artist for Mobile Styles shares, “I got started in the beauty industry because art was a passion of mine and beauty was a passion of mine. And to make someone feel better about themselves and to look better, it makes me feel ten times better about myself. That’s the goal every day – to make someone look and feel amazing.” She says for spring we’ll see girls with a pop of pastel eye color. “You want that fresh face, so we’re going to see a lot of pastels and bright lip colors,” explains Kat. She also tells us that we will see dewy faces for spring. Makeup Artist and educator for Karoli Makeup School Melissa Garcia says that bold colors will be in for makeup and she loves yellow! She asserts that if you can only wear one product to wear lipstick because you can walk out the door and your look is done!
Yvette Edery would love to see more makeup on men for spring. She reveals that to stay in touch with the latest trends it’s helpful to follow tastemakers, including the children of celebrities. They have access to all the latest in fashion and beauty. Brooklyn Beckham and Chloe Moretz are two great examples of trendsetters to follow.
Nail artists Aja McClain and Farah Yazid gave us the scoop on all the spring nail trends. They predicted pastels, floral, marble and polka dots will be popular choices. White nail polish and bling are also trending.
