Watch For Kroger Chef-Designed Prep+Pared™ Meal Kits In February and March
What’s for dinner is no longer a question with Kroger’s new Chef-Designed Prep+Pared™ meal kits available in 15 select Kroger Michigan stores starting this month. Kroger will offer eight varieties of fresh entrees that are 100 percent measured and prepared and can be served in 20 minutes or less – one of the shortest prep times for any meal kit on the market.
Prep+Pared meal kits are chef-designed, never frozen and feed two adults. Featured February recipes include Black Bean Street Cakes with Sautéed Squash and Verde Rice, Crispy Pork Chop and Roasted Tomato and Creamed Spinach, Shrimp Scampi with Lemon Garlic Fettuccini, Curry Coconut Chicken with Lemongrass Chutney + Toasted Rice + Green Beans, Truffled Steak + Sweet Potato Fries with Caramelized Onions, Island Blackened Cod with Coconut Rice, Pan-Roasted Coriander Chicken with Lemon-Glaze Carrots, and Carne Asada Steak with Fajita Vegetables + Refried Black Beans.
All entrees are seasonally appropriate and many recipes change each month so customers can try new dishes. Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and dietition’s choice kits are also available, with all nutrition facts and ingredients listed on the packaging label.
“The Prep+Pared meal kits are restaurant quality and delicious,” said Rachel Hurst, corporate affairs manager, The Kroger Co. of Michigan. “The kits include all ingredients – except salt, pepper and oil – plus an easy-to-follow recipe card. Prep+Pared’s greener packaging requires little refrigerator space – thus the ‘pared’ portion of the name.”
Prep+Pared meal kits are competitively priced and start at $14, with no subscription required. Shoppers will find the custom kits in the deli and may purchase them via ClickList®.
“Many customers enjoy cooking at home but don’t have time to pull together the freshest ingredients, flavorings and seasonings,” Hurst said. “Kroger’s Prep+Pared meal kits provide shoppers the opportunity to purchase the kits on their way home, prepare them in their own kitchen and serve them in minutes.”
March Prep+Pared selections will include Carne Asada Steak with Fajita Vegetables + Refried Beans, Black Bean Street Cakes with Sautéed Squash and Verde Rice, Crispy Pork Chop with Roasted Tomato + Creamed Spinach, Curry Coconut Chicken with Lemongrass Chutney + Toasted Rice + Green Beans, Hummus Baked Chicken with Feta + Vegetable Orzo, Harissa Lamb Meatballs with Sweet Potato + Kale + Goat Cheese, Rosé Fettuccini with Kale and Toasted Pine Nuts, and Pan Seared Salmon with Dill Butter and Potato Smashcakes.
Prep+Pared meal kits are highest quality when used within three days of purchase, with best buy dates clearly marked on every package. Freezing is not recommended.
Kroger will expand Prep+Pared meal kits to 15 additional stores in March.
